Loom Forge Studios is a one-world studio. Every project — game, server, robot or display — is another layer of the same growing world, and they share more than a name: the same stubbornness about owning the layer underneath.

If the layer underneath decides whether the thing above it can ever be right, we write it ourselves.

That is not a slogan, it is a pattern you can check. Dust MC does not fork an existing server, because worldgen defects are latent in every chunk already saved and inheriting them means inheriting them forever. The robots do not call a cloud model, because a model with a network namespace is a model that can be talked to by someone else. Return of the Runes does not store its planet, because storing it would cost 268 exabytes — so the planet is a seed and a set of edits instead.

How we work

Everything goes from first principle to working prototype. We would rather have one thing that genuinely runs than four that demo well, which is why the status labels on this site are blunt: one project is a design document, one has no player connection yet, one has never been playtested, and one is waiting on parts.

We write the tests that would catch us being wrong, not the tests that pass. A guard that matches on a name answers a different question than the one it was written to answer, and we have learned that one the expensive way more than once.

Where it goes

The four projects are not a portfolio of unrelated contracts. The robots need a world model; the game needs a planet-scale server; the server needs a generator we trust; the display is how you reach into any of it without a screen in the way. It is one world, and it keeps growing.
